Any tips on how to learn a language for free. Or how to triger a language hyper fixation cause I REALLY want to learn italian but oh boy it is hard to be consitent and learn via duolingo. yes I know it sucks to learn on and is better for practice. Im a sucker for knowledge

How to Learn ひらがな (Hiragana) in a Week

Spend the first five days studying (ideally) 10 Basic Characters per day.

To remember them use Mnemonics (watch this video):

Or if you prefer, read this short Book (free pdf download here):

Practice what you've learned each day by doing the exercises in the book, or in general by reading, listening and writing hiragana (with proper Stroke Order). The more you practice, the better you will get.

Once you are confident with normal hiragana you can start learning Diacritical Marks (Dakugen and Handakugen), Double Consonants and Contracted Sounds:

This is how I learned hiragana in a week studying for about 4 hours a day.

If after a week you still don't know how hiragana don't feel bad, everybody learns at their own pace. Remember that the important thing is to stay consistent with your studying! Keep practicing and you'll reach your goals!💗

Steve’s hearing just gets progressively worse with every knock to the head and he just…never says anything about it. No one notices that he can’t hear very well either.

And then one day, Tommy and Carol come into Family Video and they’re kinda giving him a hard time but something is off like, “Dude, do your ears not fucking work? What the fuck?”

Then Keith - of all fucking people - is like, “Yeah, he’s deaf. We get a tax cut for it.”

“How do you know?”

“It’s true?!” Robin asks and then everything goes to hell. “I could I not know???”

The whole party is mad at him and they’re all so loud about that he can hear them.

This is a livable space.#I've helped out friends and family who were struggling and let me just say...I have seen some pretty dysfunctional living spaces.#Hell I've *lived* in some very dysfunctional living spaces.#Hording dishes under the bed was always something that grossed me out but it's unfortunately something I've seen people do way too often.#The horror everyone has upon walking into WWX's 'living' set up is so consistently 'Mate how are you living like this?'#It's honestly so integral to me that WWX's 'just left home for the first time' house/room be a depression/dysfunction pit.#You can learn a lot about someon's state of mind from how they keep their living space...and this guy is oozing 'deep depression'.#I don't think he's eaten anything but foods that classify as a struggle meal in a year.#Everyone is trying to stage an intervention but he just isn't in a good enough place to help himself.#By the way: I want to steer away from shaming people who have messy homes/rooms because life *does* hit hard sometimes.#My love language is coming into your home to do your dishes and do some housework. Don't apologize for the mess king.#Nothing could top some of the places I've had to help my older siblings out of.#I'd be okay with my flatmate having a severed limb and a blood pool at this point.#As long as he lets me take out the dishes from under the bed - We're good! My standards are so low at this point.

How many languages do you know at least little bit of?

Like last time I am using a strict definition of language and a loose definition of being able to speak/knowing the language.

Details:

Sign languages count, conlangs count, super similar languages only counts one & dialects of the same language usually won't count (unless you can make multiple sentences in both that someone who only spoke the other couldn't understand), for Norwegian being able to write both bokmål & nynorsk only counts as one

You need to know more than 30 words and be able to construct at least one sentence for it to count. it has to be at least one of the following: writing/signing/speaking/whistling, it doesn't have to be multiple.

(and for people with "sampling bias" concerns, this is not supposed to represent society as a whole)
